For years now there has been this tree, literally in my backyard, that has caught my interest. This solitary tree in the middle of a farm field has such character that I have been pining to photography it. My wife and I have lived here for nearly 6 years and at this point I have been observing this tree in all types of weather and light. Just when I think the conditions are perfect I rush out with my camera and tripod in hand, giddy with excitement, to claim my prize. Alas, all my attempts have came up short, at least in the sense that I didn't feel I quite captured the trees true character.
Read MoreThis was going to be my first trip to the Quehanna Wild Area but just like everything else in life, plans change. We set off early in the morning, 3am to be exact, for the Quehanna Wild area based on the coordinates we found on a blog. Yeah…turns out the Internets lied to us because when we arrived there was no trailhead; in fact we weren’t even close. I still have no clue where we were, thank God for GPS.
Read MoreThis was my first time shooting at The Berwick Golf Club and it was a lot of fun for me. I had so many options to work with it was hard to decide what I photo I wanted to take first. The song they choose was Hartland’s – I loved her first. The song talks about a father giving his daughter away in marriage but reminding the groom that he was the one who loved her first.
When I delivered the photos, Carolynn asked me why her father was waving his finger during their dance. I told her that he was waving his finger in sync with the line “I loved her first and I held her first”. Just from the smile on her face I could tell how meaningful the photo was to her.

Read MoreI am very impressed with the NiSi V5 100mm Filter Holder System Kit. I purchased the NiSi filter kit for some new projects I am currently working on and I’m glad I did. I decided to finally get more serious about landscape photography and wanted to upgrade my filter system. I am sad to say that the polarizer filter I use to use was a $20.00 Rocket Fish filter from Best Buy. I have learned the error of my ways and I’m sorry.
Read MoreWorking with Lenny and Gabby, creating their engagement photography session, was a blast. This was the first time I was able to spend quality time with them and learn more about their personalities. What I found was that Lenny and I have a very similar sense of humor. We spent much of the session making corny jokes and laughing.

Read MoreI have spent many years visiting Ricketts Glen State park with my camera, for landscape photography, but I never ventured there during the winter. I have always heard of the amazing ice formations but never worked up the courage to try and hike the falls while there were sheets of ice covering every surface. This year however I decided I wanted to see the falls for myself.
