NiSi V5 100mm Filter Holder System Kit
I am very impressed with the NiSi V5 100mm Filter Holder System Kit. I purchased the NiSi filter kit for some new projects I am currently working on and I’m glad I did. I decided to finally get more serious about landscape photography and wanted to upgrade my filter system. I am sad to say that the polarizer filter I use to use was a $20.00 Rocket Fish filter from Best Buy. I have learned the error of my ways and I’m sorry.

Nisi Quality
The NiSi filer holder and adapter rings are made of good quality aluminum and seems to be very durable. There doesn’t seem to be any plastic in the construction of this filter system. I have had this system out on two hikes to Ricketts Glen State Park and they held up very nicely. Of course, just like anything, if you treat it good it will treat you the same.
Just before purchasing the NiSi filter kit I actually got the ZOMEi 100mm Filter Kit and ended up not liking the filter holder at all. Unlike the NiSi filter kit the ZOMEi has thumb screws to tighten the filters into place. Which quickly became difficult, especially if you were going to be working outside in the snow like I planned on doing. Plus the holder was all plastic and popped apart after using a couple of times. That would be fun to fix on the trail in 30 degree weather.
Pros
There are plenty of reasons that I enjoy the NiSi filter kit but here are a few highlights.

Cons
Honestly, the only thing I do not like about the NiSi filter kit is when sliding the filters into place the slots are very tight. I almost dropped the filter holder trying to pull my ND filter out of the slot. At least I know the filters will not just fall out because I did not tighten up a thumb screw enough. Once I used it a couple of time I got use to the tightness and had no problems.

Conclusion
When I purchased the NiSi filter kit on Amazon the price was $158.00 which for my budget was perfect. I have seen some of the Lee polarizer filters go for $200.00 and up, without the holder and adapter rings. Even though Lee filters are very good filters and deserve the recognition they get I still would have purchased the NiSi filter kit because I see better bang for buck.
