Fern Rock Nature Trail - Loyalsock State Forest

The Fern Rock Nature Trial is an easy 2.3 mile hike with an easy 170 feet elevation gain and is a real joy every step of the way. Along this trail there are streams, wetlands, wildlife, mushrooms and beautiful Ketchum Run with waterfalls and cascades.

Fred Woods Trail – Driftwood, Pennsylvania

This was going to be my first trip to the Quehanna Wild Area but just like everything else in life, plans change. We set off early in the morning, 3am to be exact, for the Quehanna Wild area based on the coordinates we found on a blog. Yeah…turns out the Internets lied to us because when we arrived there was no trailhead; in fact we weren’t even close. I still have no clue where we were, thank God for GPS.

Ricketts Glen State Park, Winter Landscape Photography Hike - Part 1

I have spent many years visiting Ricketts Glen State park with my camera, for landscape photography, but I never ventured there during the winter. I have always heard of the amazing ice formations but never worked up the courage to try and hike the falls while there were sheets of ice covering every surface. This year however I decided I wanted to see the falls for myself.
