Foggy Landscape

For years now there has been this tree, literally in my backyard, that has caught my interest. This solitary tree in the middle of a farm field has such character that I have been pining to photography it. My wife and I have lived here for nearly 6 years and at this point I have been observing this tree in all types of weather and light. Just when I think the conditions are perfect I rush out with my camera and tripod in hand, giddy with excitement, to claim my prize. Alas, all my attempts have came up short, at least in the sense that I didn't feel I quite captured the trees true character.

Fred Woods Trail – Driftwood, Pennsylvania

This was going to be my first trip to the Quehanna Wild Area but just like everything else in life, plans change. We set off early in the morning, 3am to be exact, for the Quehanna Wild area based on the coordinates we found on a blog. Yeah…turns out the Internets lied to us because when we arrived there was no trailhead; in fact we weren’t even close. I still have no clue where we were, thank God for GPS.

I have always heard of the amazing ice formations but never worked up the courage to try and hike the falls while there were sheets of ice covering every surface.
