Berwick Color Run 2016 - Colors For A Cause

Berwick Color Run

The Berwick Color Run is not like your normal everyday type of race, because at every turn, there is someone waiting to douse you in colored powder. This run/walk is a perfect way to enjoy the day with friends and family. There is music, prizes and of course.... Colored Powder.... and lots of it! Before the race even started there was color wars happening all around me full of laughter. Fortunately for me, no one got the bright idea to attack the dude with the fancy camera. I did have a certain someone from work give me a hug just to smear my shirt with colors. His plan was foiled because apparently my shirt is impervious to colored powder, anything else and the stain. :)

Colors for a Cause

The Berwick Color Run is apart of the organization Colors for a Cause and helps support those with cancer. Colors for a cause was founded in 2011 in Louisiana and inspired by the life of Brennan Daigle. The color run is held at the test track in May and is a 5K run. I really love the idea of this run, it seems more than just a run to me, more like a activity. Please come and check it out next year or head over to Colors for a Cause and make a donation.

Conclusion

This was such a wonderful experience for me getting to meet new people and enjoy a day of photographing for good cause. Today was my first time photographing a race and I’m glad the Color Run was my first go at it. I will have to go photograph the Speedo run when that happens...yes, Berwick is a strange place.
