Mother’s Day Contest – 2016
In honor of Mother's Day I have decided to give away a FREE portrait session for a mother and her children. Every mother should have photos of the their children, and every child should have photos of their mother. This is the second year that I am running this contest and I’m happy to be able to again.

My mother, Teresa Ridall, was my best friend. We use to do everything together and talk about anything. She was very tough and demanding, yet loving and gentle. She molded me into the man I am today. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss her.
In 2006 my mother passed away in her sleep, I was 19 years old. She had a condition known as epilepsy, more specifically Idiopathic epilepsy: Grand Mal Seizures, which plagued her life since she was 14 years old. Her epilepsy, ultimately, is what took her life 10 years ago.

Honestly, I don’t have many photos of my mother, at least not enough for me, in the years before she passed. I wish I had more to remember her by and to share with my son Luke when he is older. Unfortunately before 2006 I was not focused on photography like I am today so I was not very concerned with having photos of family. Life is a fragile thing.
This year’s mother’s day, I think, is going to be tougher on me then past years. This year, mother’s day lands on my birthday. Luckily I have family and love ones around me to help get through the day. On May 8th I will undoubtedly be missing her even more.
Winner of 2015 Mother's Day Contest
The winner of the 2015 Mother’s day contest was Carolynn Diehl. I was so happy to have worked with Carolynn and her 2 kids. I love the photos I got of the kids. They were very fun and goofy which really lifted my spirits. Carolynn and her family were so much fun to work with they really inspired me to run this contest again. Hats of to Carolynn, you have such a nice well-behaved family.
